How it works
A real restoration, step by step.
Wipe-on kits smear a coating over the damage. We remove the damaged layer, rebuild the clarity, and protect it.
Wet sand
Progressive grits cut away the yellowed, oxidized layer until the plastic is even and fresh.
Polish
Machine polishing with compound takes the lens from sanded-haze back to clear.
Seal
A UV-protective clear coat goes on last to replace the factory layer the sun wore away.

Cold weather notice
When it's too cold outside, bookings must be done indoors, like in a garage or another sheltered, heated space. Sanding, polishing and sealing don't work properly in freezing temperatures.
No garage? Use ours. We have a private garage for cold-weather bookings. You can drop off your vehicle, or just the headlight assemblies if you've removed them. Please call to set up a drop-off.

Why do headlights turn yellow and cloudy?
Modern headlight lenses are polycarbonate plastic with a thin UV-protective coating from the factory. Over time sunlight, road salt, gravel and car washes wear that coating away, and the exposed plastic oxidizes. That's the yellow, foggy layer you see.
How is this different from a store-bought kit?
Most quick kits and "wipe-on" products fill in the haze for a while, then it comes back. We wet-sand the damaged layer off, machine polish the lens clear, and finish with a UV-protective seal so the fresh plastic is protected again.
Do I need to bring the car somewhere?
No. We're mobile. We come to your home or workplace and do the work right there. Just have the car somewhere we can reach the front end. In cold weather, the work has to happen indoors, either in your garage or in ours by drop-off (see below).
What if it's too cold outside?
When it's too cold outside, bookings need to be done indoors, like in a garage or another sheltered, heated space. Cold lenses don't sand, polish or seal properly, and the protective coating needs warmth to cure.
No indoor space? We have a private garage for cold-weather bookings. You can drop off your vehicle, or just the headlight assemblies if you've removed them yourself. Drop-offs are arranged by phone, so give us a call to set a time.
Can you fix moisture or haze on the inside of the headlight?
Restoration fixes the outside of the lens, which is where almost all yellowing and fogging happens. If there's water, condensation or damage inside the housing, that usually means a broken seal and the housing may need to be replaced. We'll tell you honestly before we start.
